Another Day Another Awesome Adventure

Good evening, Merri-Mac families! We had yet another amazing day at our haven in the mountains. Campers ran down the hill bright and early this morning to eat a delicious breakfast of French toast and sausage. After singing some favorite breakfast songs, girls went to Chapel where we heard a message from Adam B. He told us how we will never be satisfied until we have a relationship with God.

After chapel, the festivities of this beautiful Thursday began! Olivia B., Caroline C., Emmaline D., Abigail F., Sabrina R., Caroline S., Anna S., and Anna K. embarked on an awesome backpacking trip while Emma C., Lorelai C., Sarah F., Ava W., Clare M., Elizabeth M., Lilly M., and Eva B. headed out for a day full of climbing. Girls in DIY Crafts made beautiful flower pens and worked on some pretty impressive embroidery, while campers in kayaking worked on their hip snaps. As I made my way around camp, I of course had to stop playing with the adorable puppies on their walk with the campers in PAWS. At the bottom of the hill, I got to watch girls in Backpacking successfully build and light a fire, which they celebrated by making s’ mores!

Soon, the dining hall was filled with chatter as we chowed on chicken nuggets and fries. Impressively, lower camp ate sixty pounds of french fries today! After a much-needed afternoon nap, girls attended auditions for Fine Arts Night and enjoyed some candy from Trading Post. Back in activities, girls in Summer Reading played story-telling games, while campers in climbing climbed the Upper Tower. I was so excited to see so many girls reach the top and victoriously yell,” I’m a mountain woman!” After an exquisite dinner of manicotti, garlic bread, Caesar salad, and ice cream, campers raced to their cabins to prepare for tonight’s evening activities. Golden Eagle and Black Bear are playing “Dutch Auction,” a camp favorite. In upper camp, Red Fox is playing an exciting game of “Battle Ball,” while Blue Heron plays “Tribal Trivia.”

We are having an absolute blast in 3B, and I am so excited to see what adventures, excitement, and friendships unfold in our final week at camp!
