Happy Monday, everyone!

In Chapel, we learned about how God’s love is greater than we could ever imagine! God’s love is also a perfect example of what love should be! Our verses were Psalm 100:3-5.

In our activities, we did safety talks and introductions for all of our Monday, Wednesday, Friday classes. Campers also got to experience a lot of fun and real-life applications for their activities on top of the safety talk. For example, cooking made oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, canoeing made a slide out of canoes into the lake, and kayaking learned how to wet-exit , which is a useful skill for the river.

We had two trips out today! Rafting splashed through the rapids of the French Broad! The girls who went were:

For lunch we ate a camp fan-favorite, Taco in a Bag, which even has its own song to the tune of “What’s My Name” from Descendants.

Last night’s game of sock war was very close, but ultimately the Golden Eagles earned the win and the Red Wolves won spirit points.

During free time today, Fine Arts Night auditions began and campers of all ages presented many skills such as clogging, singing, and skits. On a similar note- yesterday the Drama program announced that the play of 3B is Wicked. Over 50 campers and staff showed interest and we all are patiently awaiting the cast list to be posted!

Before dinner we got all painted up in our tribe’s colors for tonight’s game of Base Jumping. Each camper acted like a spy as they aimed to get their tribes colored slips into each of the bases. Every 20 minutes a secret base was revealed and the campers had to work together to determine the location of the base. The counselors were stingers, with the intention of intercepting the slips before the camper could reach a base.

Today was another fantastic day at camp, even though it served as an introduction to activities, all campers learned new skills and accomplished navigating a new environment, making friends, and having fun!
