The campers had a meaningful, emotional and at the same time fun day, because today was TRIBE FEST, WHITE FEATHER AND LAKE SIDE. Let’s see why the last day is the best day!

After a lot of hot summer days, the rain finally arrived and cooled down camp today! The day started with the many campers` favorite meal, sausage egg and cheese biscuits and hash browns for breakfast!

In the morning we had Sunnyside Chapel, where the Sunnysiders led us in worshipping together one final time. We sang: I’ll Fly Away, Isaiah 43, and Oceans. The Sunnysiders shared their favorite Bible verses, camp memories, and wisdom with us and the Chapel ended – with the best tradition – by jumping in the lake! Watching them all hugging in the lake reminded us how important friendship is at camp.

We had an emotional morning, but today was about Tribefest! All classes were cancelled, and we competed in tribal games all day long! We played El Presidente (winner: Golden Eagle), sang at Songfest – where the campers composed their own songs (winner: Red Wolves), and competed in The Great Escape (winner: Black Bear).

After the games all of the campers started to pack their things. During this last day at camp, we didn’t forget about lunch of course, because it was Greek Day (!) and we ate delicious gyros. For dinner we had roasted chicken and potatoes with apple turnovers for dessert.

At the end of the day, the final White Feather ceremony of 1st session took place, which was especially exciting because we announced SIX new White Feathers! We are really proud of our campers and we are truly glad to see how they grew during the camp! (For names of girls who received awards tonight, please see below.)

After the White Feather we held our final campfire where we sang, talked about all we accomplished this summer, and each cabin shared their favorite memories.

Finally, we gathered on the banks of Lake Doris one last time for Lakeside. For this tradition, we lit a huge fire in the middle of the lake. Campers made wishes and set their candles afloat on the water – and afterwards, they hugged and cried and remembered that this is goodnight and not goodbye!

After the long day, we put our heads down and wait excitedly for tomorrow, because we will finally hear who won the Banner!!!!
