It’s a Merri day, Merri-Mac!

The sun came out this afternoon for the opening day of Second Session, making it a great first day at camp! We had so much fun welcoming each of you to camp, some for the first time and some back again for another amazing summer.

We have had a busy first few hours of camp; getting to know our cabinmates, doing our “cabin talks” with our counselors, learning cabin songs and everyone’s names! We all jumped in the lake together and spent the rest of the afternoon settling in!

For dinner, we had an opening day staple – spaghetti and meatballs and ice cream sandwiches for dessert. Following dinner, we walked up to the Council Ring for initiation to welcome our new friends into their tribes.

We finished the night by returning to our cabins for a devotional and to wind down before bed. I’ve heard cheering, singing and new friends being made all over Merri-Mac today.

Echoing the through mountains, I can hear taps. We have a big first day of camp ahead of us tomorrow!
