A little rain can’t stop some Merri-Mac girls from having fun!
Yay! Monday! A little rain can’t stop some Merri Mac girls from having fun! The girls woke up, cleaned up their cabins, and headed down the hill for a fan favorite breakfast, french toast sticks with sausage! Today is “Merica Monday”, so a lot of the girls are decked out in their America gear. After breakfast, it was chapel time where we sang beautiful songs and listened to an encouraging message from counselor Lucie C.
A few trips went out! Cate F., Mackenzie P., Madeline W., Gabby K., Betsy B., Eleanor E., Tillie M., Arwen L., Livvi H., Mary Raines A., and Alice A., are on their second night of their two night backpacking trip. A rafting trip also went out this morning with Melody B., Mary Dudley C., Lizzie D., Susanna H., Lola H., Gabrielle K., Nina L., Raegan M., Mary Clare N., Cailin R., Ava E W., Charley B. Louisa D., Greer H., and Ava P.
First and second periods went off without a hitch and the sun even came out for a little bit! Backpacking worked on tying knots, gymnastics worked on team building, and canoeing had fun swamping boats in the lake. We managed to stay rain free for the first half of the day!
In the Tucker Inn for lunch, it was “Monte Monday”! The Kitchen staff served Monte Cristo sandwiches with fries and fresh fruit. After we ate and sang tribal songs, the winners of evening activities were announced:
Counselor hunt – Seminoles
Spirit Points – Iroquois
El Presidente – Choctaw
Spirit Points – Choctaw
And finally, they announced what the evening activity for tonight is! Drum roll….
Tweedle dance party and s’mores, and intermediate/senior hill spelling bee! The girls were all so excited for what this evening has in store.
After a very exciting lunch, all the girls went back to their cabins for a rest time, and shortly after ran down to get a treat at the trading post followed by intermediate camper free swim and third and fourth periods. Cooking made doughnuts and grilled fruit skewers, tennis worked on bars, and guitar worked on lots of new songs! We had a little rain showers in the afternoon, but a little rain couldn’t stop our fun!
Finally it was dinner time, Pulled pork, mac and cheese and apple turnovers were served! Excitement was in the air for the fun evening activities rapidly approaching! Overall it was a great day to have a great day!
With love,
