What a fantastic first day of Session 3! I would love to tell you how much great work the staff has done to get us to this point, but the real heroes of the day were our camp families. Every single arriving family jumped right into the system with patience and optimism, and your girls have done exactly the same thing. Ann and I have watched cabin groups all over the camp smiling, laughing and singing their songs. It’s really been fun!

After dinner we had our traditional initiation ceremony! The new Seminole Chief is Milly C., Elder is Erin I., and Braves are Bryland B. and Meg M. The new Choctaw Chief is Riley M., Elder is Katie L., and Braves are Sophie S. and Amelia L. The new Iroquois Chief is Everly H., Elder is Ivy C., and Braves are Addie K., and Katherine M. We also added a new position in our lower cabins called Lookouts. Our new Seminole Lookouts are Leah C., Lucy C., Caroline M., and Riley T. Our new Choctaw Lookouts are Regan M., Lane H., Zadie H., and Helen C. Our new Iroquois Lookouts are Ansley C., Kennedy A., Elli B., and Cora Nancy A.

After a traditional camp Sunday dinner of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, etc. we headed up the mountain for our initiation ceremony. Our new Seminoles are Celia C., Lillian M., Louise M., Caroline C., Kirby U., Reese C., Cayleigh E., Sofia C., Caroline K., and Caroline H. Our new Iroquois is Michaela T. Our new Choctaws are Eleanor M., Emery F., Lila K., Molly N., Lucy M., Susanna A., Chloe R., and Sydney S.

Tomorrow we roll into our first typical day of camp and the girls are already excited to see their schedules. We have great days ahead so stay posted.
