Another great Sunday here at Camp Merri Mac! Sundays are very special here and filled with rest, fun, and adventure. The campers got to sleep in an hour today and woke up at 8am, then they got to go to breakfast at 9 for a Sunday tradition: cinnamon rolls! “This is my favorite breakfast at camp, I am so excited!” said Harper W. After breakfast, the girls made their way up the mountain for chapel. “The Robin” cabin got to lead chapel on this special Sunday, they read out of the story book bible and put on a play. After chapel the river and canyon neighborhood (grades 1st-6th) got to participate in free swim, they got to blob, go off the diving boards, and have fun with their friends! Forest and mountain neighborhoods (grades 7th-11th) got to use the slip and slide and play kickball. After lunch the campers got to take cabin pictures and had an hour long rest hour! After rest hour they had free time and trading post. After trading post the girls got to switch the activities for the afternoon so the river and canyon neighborhoods got to use the slip and slide and play kickball while the forest and mountain neighborhoods got to free swim! Dinner got delivered to the cabins around 6pm: pizza and watermelon! After dinner the whole camp got together to watch skits about camp and sing songs during a celebration called vespers. Then the camp had a field day on Mackys Green to end the night! “I LOVE Sundays at camp, I got to hang out with my friends, play outside, and even meet new people in my neighborhood all day! It was so much fun.
