It was a Merri Christmas at Merri-Mac!! After a much deserved extra hour of sleep, everyone awoke to doughnuts and hot chocolate delivered by the truck, as well as special treats in all of their stockings!! After opening stockings and exchanging Secret Santa cards, the girls headed to Christmas day chapel and then morning activities. Down at Lake Doris, the girls in swimming and diving worked towards their bronze and silver bars, while canoeing worked on deep water reentries. Merri-Move was on the move today- many girls working towards bars ran the camp loop and Beatrix C and Bo M earned their silvers!

After a delicious “Christmas Dinner” lunch and singing Christmas carols in the dining hall, the girls headed to a much needed hour-long rest hour. During afternoon free time, there was something to do for everyone! Louise M won a gymnastics tournament hosted by Annie B, many Tweedles and bear camp girls competed in a Gaga Ball tournament, and Cordelia N directed a grand production in the amphitheater for her gold in drama. This hot and sunny afternoon was full of lots of fun in every activity. In drama the girls did improv and performed in front of the class, while the girls in DIY continued to work on their camp journals. The puppies in PAWS were extra playful today, as the girls got to play with them and work on tricks.

Cross Patch and Cloud Nine both returned from their cabin trips just before the rain this afternoon. Cross Patch took a cabin hike to a scenic waterfall and swimming hole, where they enjoyed a nice lunch together outdoors. Meanwhile, Cloud Nine enjoyed a beautiful hike to Monkey Bottom Falls, where they enjoyed many swimming holes and waterfalls along the way. Sarah W was ecstatic to discover all of these fun swimming spots, as she had never swam in such unique places.

Now that everyone is back at camp it’s time for Cabin Night!! Cross Patch will be sent on a scavenger hunt around camp that will lead to a special surprise at the Tee Pee and a spa night. The seventh grade cabins (Little Dipper, Lavender’s Blue, Stardust, and Milky Way) have a special surprise in store for them- S’MORES!! Fun cabin memories will be made all around camp tonight- all of the Tweedles are heading to Pippin Hill for kick ball and the sunset, while Up Yonder and Jiggity Jog will be hiking up to the shelter for a camp out and sunrise!! The Sunnysiders will be having a special “Sunnyside Trip,” where they will be having food catered, a photoshoot, and get to watch a movie together!

It has been a wonderful day at Merri-Mac and we can’t wait to see what fun tomorrow has in store for us!!
