This morning the girls woke up, cleaned their cabins, and ran to the Tucker Inn for a breakfast of yummy baked oatmeal and chocolate muffins! After breakfast, we made our way up to chapel. We sang some great songs, and Ingrid P. spoke to us about who Jesus is. As the day went on, the campers headed to their activities. I had a great time seeing everyone in the their activities learning new things and working on their bars. In Diving, Addison P. and Caroline M. Earned their gold! They also earned their gold in Volleyball along with Corinne K., Anna H., Trista R., and Sarah L. In Dance, Alexandra H. earned her gold as well! We love to see campers excelling in their activities! Over at the dock I saw Riley P. teaching many younger campers how to swim including Claire T.! I also got to see Hannah S. hit the target in Riflery! The lunch bell finally rang, and the campers were so excited for mini corn dogs and mac and cheese! It was announced at lunch that the upper camp Black Bears won Battle Ball last night, and the lower camp Golden Eagles won Newcomb! And then… evening activity was announced… a camp favorite… CHRISTMAS!! As the girls rushed off to rest time they talked of Christmas outfits, stockings, an extra hour of sleep, and donut delivery by the blue truck in the morning. Christmas tunes played for the rest of the day throughout free time and into the next rotation of activities. At the climbing tower many girls were climbing and belaying. Grace F. and Brooke B. were working on their silver which included belaying and tying special knots. Soon, daily activities were over, and everyone ran to their cabins to dress up for Christmas Eve dinner of spaghetti and meatballs with brownies for dessert! After dinner the campers headed to the White Feather ceremony where they were recognized for camper and counselor commendations, promotions, bars, and electives. Tonight they will write each other sweet Secret Santa letters while the counselors go around and carol by candlelight to each cabin. In the morning they will wake up to stockings filled with goodies and donuts with hot chocolate! These moments and memories will last a lifetime, and we are so glad that you have shared your daughters with us this summer! I am so excited to see the delighted faces of the campers in the morning!
