It’s another fun-filled day at camp Merri-Mac, the temperatures may be high, but the spirit in our girls here at camp is even higher! The day started off on a fun note with chocolate muffins for breakfast served with a side of smiles. Chapel was beautiful especially as we were able to watch the cycle of rainy days be broken with some much-needed sunshine. The girls are busy at work in their activities. With lots of hard work, Ella C., Hollyn C., Haley H., and Caroline E. have earned their gold bars in basketball. In fencing, Ellen M. took a stab at her gold and was successful! We love seeing our campers learning new skills as well as earning bronze, silver, and gold bars in more familiar activities.

Today was an exciting day for trips! Girls enrolled in yoga classes took a relaxing trip to Andrew’s Geyser and Pottery girls ventured up the blue ridge parkway to Craggy Gardens. PAWS classes didn’t roam outside of camp but they did make it down the hill to take the puppies for a dip in lake Doris. A puppy free swim, how about that!

Laughs were shared over a delicious lunch of chicken tenders and french fries, one of my personal favorites here at camp! Girls in different cabins are hosting awesome events. Be on the lookout tomorrow for photos from Merri-Mac’s got talent, a free style rap competition, and a trashion-fashion show! As for tonight, the anticipation is setting in as we get ready for our evening activity of counselor hunt. The counselors who are found by campers get pushed into lake Doris, a good way to end another merri day here at Camp Merri-Mac. May the best tribe win!
