Merri-Mac stretch awake this morning to a beautiful scene of Lake Doris shrouded in fog. While the morning looked relaxing, camp has had a full day of excitement during this last full day of Session 2. The fresh breeze swept through cabins as campers headed down for a hearty meal of sausage, eggs, and bacon grits. 
 
Sunnysiders led chapel this morning with songs like Reckless Love and 10,000 Reasons. They shared words of wisdom and even jumped in the lake getting their yellow shirts and overalls wet!
 
In Volleyball, campers competed against each other in three full sets of games. During Basketball, campers played six vs six, and several counselors joined in on the occasion. Pottery had a relaxing setup where campers molded clay and threw on the wheel.

 

Backpacking made smores today over a fire from wood collected by campers!

Tennis also enjoyed the morning by playing “Queen of the Court,” which is the tennis version of Four Square, where players compete their way up to become Queen.
 
During cooking, campers celebrated their last day by baking up a tea party. The room was decked out for the occasion with table cloths on all the tables. They crafted blueberry and chocolate scones from scratch, filling the room with tempting aromas. To complete the classy English vibe, campers used fancy cups to drink tea.
 
DIY wrapped up the session with the theme of “storytelling.” Campers created art projects and worked on their journals through the lens of telling a story. Some chose to write and illustrate their own stories, other created their own mini books, and still others watercolored coloring pages.
 
During lunch, campers learned some very serious but exciting news: two tribes are currently tied for the most points to win the banner, so campers are playing Tribal Trash this evening to collect any trash unintentionally scattered around camp. Soon we will know who the victor is!
 
As the evening draws to a close, campers are looking forward to White Feather and Lakeside to top off this session. What an action packed way to finish the second session at camp!
