Hello from the mountains!

We started our morning out right with some bacon and pancakes for breakfast before heading up to chapel. We sang and danced to 500 Miles, All in All, Oceans and of course the Camp Hymn. We heard Lucy share her true story and then read Romans 5:6-11. We were reminded that Jesus loved us SO MUCH that He died for us.

After chapel, it was time for our first activities. I headed up to airsoft and saw the two teams of girls; The Infected and The Cure battle it out. In riflery and archery the girls had their eyes on the targets. Our puppy patrol took the fluff-balls for a walk through camp while our crafty DIY girls were creating their own postcards using pictures of camp as inspiration. We had some adventures off camp take place today including backpacking, climbing and rafting.

We munched and crunched on some Mac ‘n’ Cheese and mini corn dogs for lunch. The evening activity was announced – Tonight the three tribes battle it out in El Presidente!! We were supposed to play last night but some gloomy weather meant we would instead test our brains in some Tribal Trivia. The rain never ruins our fun.

We headed up to cabins for a well-needed rest from a busy camp morning and then off to Tray-Po (Trading Post) and free time. It was a perfect summer day for Cross-Patch, Up Yonder and The Robin’s free swim where the blob was well-loved.

Back to activities where some of our dancing queens demonstrated their ‘Pineapple’ jump to me and our drama classes had the chance to be directors today. They held ‘auditions’ and assigned roles for their plays. In yoga, the girls learnt some balancing poses including Warrior III and Dancer pose. In each lesson, the girls practice the three pillars of yoga which are breathing, postures and meditation.

Tonight, we also held our White Feather Ceremony in which we honored the girls who had gone above and beyond in their activities and leadership at camp. Below are listed the girls who received recognition:
