Pirate Ball & Last Vespers of the Season!
Pirate Ball & Last Vespers of the Season!
Happy Sunday!! We have had a lovely day full of sunshine, rest, and fun time with our cabins. Today we had an amazing breakfast of cinnamon rolls and chocolate milk (everyone’s favorite breakfast time treat!!). We had an amazing time in chapel where Rainbow reenacted the story of Jesus and the Little Children. The girls talked about God’s love and how we are called to have the faith and trust of a child. After chapel our girls had a fun day full of swimming, painting nails, and sibling day!!
Our girls got to enjoy a free swim with their cabins throughout the day. They also got to enjoy a lunch of wraps and brownies with whipped cream and chocolate syrup. After that we had a long rainy rest time. After that the sun came out and we all had a sunny afternoon full of pirate ball, nail polish, and tetherball.
Girls got to spend time with their cabinmates and counselors today. The Tweedles had a spa day where counselors painted their nails and braided hair for the afternoon. The girls had a ball picking out colors, glitter, and stickers for their nails. We had girls painting their nails their tribe colors and we had girls choosing fun summer colors as well. The counselors loved getting to treat their campers and have a little extra time to check in with their campers as they painted nails.
After a fun afternoon, the girls had a cookout for dinner that was prepared by our amazing CITs. They had the choice of a hotdog or hamburger. They also had chips, cookies, potato salad, and watermelon. Sunday cookout is such a fun time to hang out as a camp and enjoy a summer time meal with friends from their cabin and cabin area.
This evening we took a break from tribal games and had vespers. The girls get to sing fun songs, see silly skits, and hear from senior staff about God and His love for us. Vespers are one of our favorite things here at camp. It is such a fun evening full of bonding, laughter, and spending time together as a community.
As we head into our last week of the summer, we are sad to see our campers go. However we still have a few days full of fun, adventure, and friends here at Merri-Mac!!
