Thursday July 4th

Today was an amazing day as 2F campers are getting into the swing of things here. The day began with some delicious waffles, whipped cream, strawberries, and blueberries for a red, white, and blue breakfast! Breakfast concluded with songs like Party in the USA or the Star Spangled Banner to celebrate this 4th of July. We even sang a happy birthday rap to America!

After breakfast, the girls hurried up to the chapel where we sang beautifully next to Lake Dorris and Andrea Young shared a reflective message about how God wants to fix our sins and help us.

Then the girls separated to their activities where they learned rolls in the kayaks, walked the puppies, and climbed to a new hight looking out from the top of Pippin hill. When lunch time rolled around, girls were so excited to hear about the walking-taco that would soon be devoured, so after we sang the superman prayer they were quick to enjoy their bags with chips, beans, beef, and taco toppings!

After more USA songs, the evening activity was announced…. USA Commando!!! A definite crowd pleaser! For this the girls are not separated by tribes, but rather randomly separated into three teams: team red, team blue, and team white.

We took some well deserved rest during the rest hour then delighted in trading post snacks, tether ball, and gaga ball during free time. Then activities resumed with canoe slides, swim relays, and much more!

For dinner we enjoyed a CIT hosted cookout!Yummy burgers, dogs, pasta salad, and the famous Mookie! Then it was time to trek up to pippin hill to have fun with water balloons and as always… stingers! We finished off the day with a Miss America pageant show where girls competed for the most USA spirited outfit by cabin area!

Then some cabins then returned for a post evening activity, maybe smores, slip ‘n slide, or puppy time. This is a great time for campers to bond with cabin mates and create life-long connections. Devotionals that reflected today’s chapel message were the final activity of the night to complete a sunny 4th of July at Merri Mac!
