Spirit for Days!

What another lovely and beautiful day at camp today! This morning we had some delicious scrambled eggs, bacon, and biscuits. After breakfast, the girls rushed to the chapel and sang The Banana Song and Come Thou Fount. Elizabeth Olvey taught us about “Who is Man?” and how Christ is our shepherd looking and keeping us safe. Chapel ended with a surprise announcement from Maddie Lemmon and Morgan Sarkin: TRIBEFEST!

The girls rushed to their cabins to get adorned in spirit – paint, glitter, and tutus oh my! The first game of the day was Sock War with a win from the Black Bears and spirit points from the Red Wolves. After all that running around, girls enjoyed pizza for lunch and then headed to a full hour long rest hour. After trading post, the girls went to tribe meetings to sign up for what activities they would be participating in for The Amazing Race – a camp-wide relay race that allows campers to show their strengths in various activities. The Golden Eagles took the win and cheered their hearts out to win spirit points too. Before dinner, the girls made sure the camp was looking extra beautiful during Tribal Trash Pickup, where the Golden Eagles took home another win. At dinner the girls enjoyed Chicken Alfredo and learned that they would be playing Inferno this evening. The aim of this game is to put out other tribes’ fire while keeping your own alive.

What an exciting day of tribal fun!

After a long day of games and fun, the girls are all ready for a good night’s sleep. We had an awesome day here at Merri-Mac and cannot wait for more adventures tomorrow!
