Opening Day! There are girls singing and cheering all over camp. We have learned our new cabin songs and are already off on a new adventure and making new friends.

After unpacking, each cabin enjoyed a picnic lunch before heading over to Lake Doris for a quick swim. Each girl completed their swim check so they could be ready to enjoy free swim including the blob, waterslide, and diving boards.

For each session, we celebrate our new friends joining the Merri-Mac family with an initiation into their tribe. The Golden Eagles, Red Wolves, and Black Bears all welcome new tribe members tonight. Tribes compete each night in camp games to win the ultimate prize, the banner.

Tonight, we welcomed the following girls into the Golden Eagles:
Ruby C, Ryn S, Mia T, Rosie V, Alice de G, Evans H, Halle H, Klara Y, Laelia Y, Ava C, Emma C, Amelia S, Pearl B, Violet B, Laura B, Lelia G, Martha Ann G, Annie H, Sofia R, Edie S, Annabelle T.

Next, we welcomed the following Red Wolves into the tribe:
Parker A, Maggie C, Emme G, Ellis G, Gretchen K, Caroline L, English M, Graycie S, Aden C, Dalton W, Libby B, Rory C, Lucie H, Scarlett S, Graham S, Anne Lawson T, Charlie T, Ellie T, Eloise W.

Last (but certainly not least), we welcome these mighty Black Bears:
Addison D, Eastyn F, India G, Adeline M, Douglas B, Lindy G,
Inez D, Anne Hampton D, Greta G, Cece M, Stella W, Gigi W, Elizabeth W.

Our tribes also elected tribal leaders from our group of older campers. Our Golden Eagle leaders are: Charlotte Z (chief), Avery C (elder), Rebecca K (scout) and Abigail M (scout). Our Red Wolf leaders are: Louise C (chief), Helen C (elder), Amelia B (scout), and Emily Kate (scout). Our Black Bear leaders are Elli B (chief), Ellen M (elder), Adeline B (scout) and Grace S (scout).

It’s hard to imagine tomorrow being a better day than today! But a lot of fun and tribe games are in store – this is sure to be the best summer yet!
