It was a beautiful Sunday morning here at Camp.

We got to sleep in an extra hour and then we headed down to the dinning hall to eat delicious cinnamon rolls. After breakfast we headed over to chapel to hear a special message from Sunspot the cabin. They told and acted out the story of Jonah being swallowed by the big fish.

After chapel we had free swim for Tweedles and Bear Camp. We did the blob, flips off the diving board and just swam around with our friends. For lunch we had Mexican Raps and broccoli soup. We then headed up to rest hour for a full hour today. After rest hour we ran to tray-po to get some candy and a refreshing drink.

During free time today, we worked on bars in our activities and Senior Hill enjoyed free swim. We also had a lot of fun kayaking around lake Doris today. Before dinner we played a tribal game called The Amazing Race. This is a game where the three tribes race around camp doing activities like packing a backpack, canoeing, singing the Happy Birthday song and popping balloons in archery. They race to the end to get to their tribal leader (the chief) to slide down the slip ‘n slide. The winner was…. Black Bears.

For dinner tonight we enjoyed an amazing cookout. The CIT’s (Counselors In Training) help set up and serve hamburgers and hotdogs to the camp. After the cookout we headed to the chapel once again to enjoy Vespers. We watched skits performed by counselors and listened to The Black Mountain Oysters perform songs. The theme for tonight’s Vespers was Country. We then closed the night listening to Will Troxler talking about Jesus. Last but not least, cabins went to their post evening activities and Sunnyside & Rainbow enjoyed their Prom up on Pippin Hill.

Today was a pretty restful and peaceful Sunday at camp. We just enjoyed being together and enjoying God’s creation. We are excited to see what tomorrow brings.
