Even though the end of Session One is drawing near, the energy around camp is still just as high as it was on opening day. This morning began bright and early with the familiar sound of the bugle at 7:00 AM. Campers rolled out of bed and made their way through cabin clean-up before heading to a delicious breakfast together. By 9:00 AM, we were all gathered for chapel, where today’s message was delivered by Mary Page Troxler. She shared a beautiful lesson about how God delights in us and how deeply He cares for every one of us. The verse of the day was John 15:9-11, and it reminded us that we are loved—fully and joyfully.

Back at camp, the day in activities was full of sunshine, laughter, and accomplishment. In Archery, the girls played the Balloon Game, which never fails to bring squeals of excitement. One camper not only popped her balloon but also managed to hit a bullseye in the same shot—a true Merri-Mac moment! Over at the climbing wall, spirits were soaring even higher as Tizzy Perkins and Hannah Williams earned their gold bars in Rock Climbing—an incredible achievement and a testament to their hard work all session long.

Swimming was a splash as always, with campers enjoying a refreshing free swim under the summer sun. Meanwhile, in Volleyball, Rosemary Skinner celebrated a milestone by earning her bronze bar. These girls continue to impress us every single day with their determination, teamwork, and joy in the little victories.

Dinner brought more than just a warm meal—it brought songs, laughter, and a very special celebration. During the meal, two campers were honored with their White Feather, and the whole dining hall erupted in cheers and song. Merri-Mac traditions like these never fail to fill the room with pride and a sense of sisterhood.

The day ended with one of our favorite evening traditions: Cabin Night. Each cabin shared time together in their own special way. Little Dipper and Jiggity Jog got to raid the Trading Post, stocking up on sweet treats and snacks. Rainbow headed to the pickleball court for a fast-paced evening of fun, and Big Dipper spent their night gathered around the fire, roasting marshmallows and making s’mores under the stars. These quiet moments together are often where some of the sweetest memories are made.

It was a full and wonderful Wednesday at Camp Merri-Mac—a day of growth, joy, and unforgettable summer magic. We can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.
