What a fun-filled last Tuesday for our First Session campers! The 7AM bugle marked the start of our day, and we all began tidying the cabins, ensuring our beds were tucked and floors swept. Upon the 8AM breakfast bell, campers were served french toast sticks- a fan favorite- along with grits at the bar. At chapel we sang “Let my light shine bright”, “Come thou fount”, and “Promises”, before our ‘true story with Elizabeth O.’. Elizabeth’s message highlighted the exciting truth that God orders the chaos in our lives with a silly story about an unorganized Trade-Po run. She read Philippians 4:4-9 before sending campers to their tribe meetings; I could hear the Red Wolf tribe practicing their songs all the way from the chapel!

Today was very special for our campers that were elected cabin princesses, because instead of following their usual Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday schedule, they were sent to the Mike to practice their play for the Princess Party that was to be held later this evening! While the princesses began their rehearsal, the rest of camp had an exciting day of activities. On the lower part of camp, the Patti-o was filled with savory scents as the cooking class grilled up some delicious sliders. In the enchanted barn, our pottery girls are finishing up their projects while the DIY class made bookmarks! In backpacking, campers enjoyed hot chocolate by the fire as our cheerleaders made up cheers to present to each other. Meanwhile on the dock, our girls have loved exploring the refreshing waters of Doris in the heat of the summer. Our Junior Lifeguarding class began submerged rescues while Swimming worked on bars. We saw the Studio Fitness girls run by a few times on their laps around camp! Up on Pippin Hill, the PAWS class is a big hit. Today, campers gave the puppies baths and practiced teaching them to sit. Soon enough, it was lunch time, and we were eating macaroni and cheese with mini corn dogs (another classic). After our 45 minutes of rest time, I could hear the excited giggling as girls made their way to Trading Post to get their snacks for free time. On the dock, we tested for bars and had two girls get their golds! Polly M. got her gold in diving after perfecting her double front flip and Allie W. got her gold in Jr. Lifeguarding after mastering her spinal rescue with an extrication. After third and fourth period, girls had 30 minutes to get ready for the princess party. Campers came down for dinner in their favorite dresses and enjoyed pizza and ice cream sandwiches for dessert. Then, they made their way to the Mike to watch the cabin princesses perform their long-awaited play celebrating our Camp Princess, Adeline P. Our girls are soaking up the last few days of first session with their camp friends and are excited to see what God has in store for them tomorrow!

Thanks for tuning in!
