Settling In

Settling In
Our third full day of classes was kicked off with some unexpected rain but that did not stop anyone from having fun.
Campers started their day by doing their daily chores before running down to the Tucker Inn for a breakfast of waffle sticks and sausage. We then said goodbye to everyone who was going on one of the two trips we had going out.
Participating in rafting today were: Riley Y, Taylor Y, Mary Shelton T, Caroline T, Sophia R, Lanier S, Marion S, Ella P, Eva P, Lucia P, Samantha G, and Rachel G
Participating in our trail running trip to Montreat were: Anne Calvert W, Eleanor D, Elizabeth K, Abigail M, Riley Y, Shelby H, Eloise B, Lillie K, and Allie W
We then headed up to the chapel where we sang songs and talked about how God will always provide exactly what we need.
After chapel morning activities began. Cooking made cheeseburger cupcakes with mashed potatoes for the frosting. Pottery made christmas ornaments, and Archery worked on groupings.
For lunch today we had a camp wide favorite of Pizza. The winners of evening activity from last night were announced, shoutout to Black Bears for winning the Great Escape, and Red Wolfs for winning spirit points. We then headed back to the cabins for some much needed rest time.
After rest time we had free time where campers can get a drink and a snack and then do an activity of their choosing! A new addition to this year is that some activities will open up for campers who aren’t taking that specific class. Today Archery was open and campers were thrilled to be able to try something new!
The bugle then rang signaling the start of afternoon activities. Climbing worked on tying knots. Fitness worked on bars and cheer learned a new stunt!
Tonight we will be having pork carnitas for dinner before playing sock war! After evening activity some cabins will have a post evening activity before showers and bed; Rainbow is going to play pickleball!
Overall it was a great day at Merri Mac and we can’t wait to do it all over again tomorrow!
