It’s been another merri day here at Merri-Mac! We started our day off with a breakfast of  waffle sandwiches and the oatmeal bar! We sang some camp favorites after we ate, including A Wang, Sippin’ Cider, and the Prune Song.

We then headed to chapel, where we sang Let My Light Shine Bright, On Jordan’s  Stormy Banks (a personal favorite of mine, I must say!), and Father, I Adore You. Mary Page  presented our sermon for the day, where she answered the question of the day: who is man?  Mary Page talked about how when she was little, just short of being a camper, she loved to run  around to all the different activities and pretend she was a Tweedle. One day, she was in archery  and really had to use the bathroom. She didn’t want to leave, and she thought she could muscle  through it; but right before she shot her arrow, she lost control and peed all over herself! The  counselors had to radio Adam, Mary Page’s dad and former camp director, who came and picked  her up in a golf cart and got her all cleaned up. Mary Page compared her inability to hold her  bladder with man—we are weak; imperfect; and no matter how hard we try, we can’t just muscle  through it. She referenced Romans 3:23-24, that states that we have all sinned, but are saved by  the grace of Jesus’s redemption. Man is broken and sinful, but similarly to Adam’s rescue of a soaking wet and embarrassed Mary Page, God sent His one and only Son to rescue us, simply  because He loves us So.

We also had a few trips go out today!

Today, girls in our activities continued to hone their skills needed for the next two weeks.  Senior hill girls learned how to throw on the wheel in Pottery. Girls in Archery worked on  shooting with precision: the girl with the closest three arrows at the end of class gets crowned the  Princess of Precision! Girls in Jr. Lifeguarding worked on bars today! Ansley C. swam 16 laps  for her silver, and Helen G. worked on her jumps for gold! In Tennis, they played Queen of the  Court, where Evelyn M. was crowned Queen! Canoeing swamped and sank canoes today, and  did the canoe slide! Our Kayakers also took a field trip over to Tweedle Creek, where they  practiced scouting out lines when kayaking down a river, using a little foam kayak as a model. In  other words, they practiced looking for the best way down a river, avoiding rocks and undercuts!  And in Cooking, the girls grilled sliders with homemade buns! They were delicious!!

Tonight, our intermediate and senior campers are playing Tribal Volleyball, while our  junior campers play Newcomb! So much fun! Can’t wait to hear the winners tomorrow! I’m  hoping for a Black Bear win!!

After our evening activity, cabins will head to a postevening activity before they head off  to showers and devo. Moonmist, Blue Heaven, and Sundrop get to go play on the Slip n’ Slide!!  A camp posteve classic!

We’ve had the best day here at camp, and we can’t wait to tell you all about another great  day tomorrow! Until next time!
