Today was a great day at camp as we welcomed our 3B campers! There was a lot of energy all around camp as we welcomed new friends and reconnected with old ones. After check-in finished, we had a picnic lunch on the Back Green with croissant sandwiches, chicken salad, and a coleslaw salad. Next, we headed to Lake Doris for a quick swim check. We spent the afternoon with our cabins learning all about our new cabin mates and getting to know our counselors. For dinner, we had spaghetti with meatballs and a delicious ice cream sandwich for dessert. A great first dinner at camp!
Following dinner, we headed up to the Council Ring for our tribal initiation where new campers are initiated into one of three mighty tribes: the Black Bears, the Red Wolves, and the Golden Eagles. Tribes help us to immediately establish a sense of belonging for our new campers and a strong sense of community for returning campers. Tomorrow we will kick off tribal games with our first evening activity.

As the girls get settled in their new cabins and meet their new friends, I can’t help but get excited for all of the great adventures that await us. I can’t wait to see what tomorrow holds. Thank you for sharing your daughters with us this summer!
