It’s a Merri day, Merri-Mac! 

Today is the best of all because it’s the opening day of our 81st summer. Camp is full of happy campers, and I can’t wait to see all of the growth, friendships, and adventures that they bring! 

Opening day is always full; we spend the whole day getting to know camp and each other. Campers swam in the lake, spent time settling into their cabins, and got to sing their newly learned cabin songs at dinner. Most importantly, all of our new friends got initiated into their tribes tonight!

We also elected tribe leaders from our oldest campers. Our Red Wolf leaders are Millie S. (Chief), Uma V. (Elder), Ellen G. (Scout), and Adele C. (Scout). The Black Bears are led by Stella C. (Chief), Sadie C. (Elder), Afton C. (Scout), and Caroline T. (Scout). Our Golden Eagle leaders are Lyla J. (Chief), Mary Adams K. (Elder), Candler L. (Scout), and Anna Catherine P. (Scout). Congratulations girls!

We finished the night by returning to our cabins for a devo and to wind down before bed. A busy, full, happy, loud, Merri day indeed!
