Happy Tuesday!

Merri-Mac friends and family, what a great Tuesday at camp it has been! We woke up, did our chores as always, and had waffle sandwiches for breakfast! After breakfast, we headed down to chapel where Margaret talked about who Jesus is. Next, we headed to tribe meetings where we learned some new tribe cheers so we can show spirit during tribe games!

Some of the girls returned from their Solo 13 last night. These girls are:
Audrey B.
Wynn E.
Ella S.
Lawson K.
Helen M.
Susanna A.
Emma Jane H.

Finally, we had some of our campers go kayaking today! Fun! These girls are:
Savannah R.
Alina S.
Leighton W.
Kaylee W.
Mia L.
Millie L.
Cecilia L.
Estella D.
Julia E.
Lexi E.
Hannah-Cate G.
Vivienne V.

Onto activities! In kayaking today, we worked on side-by-side rescues and rolls, and Elsa B. got her roll for the first time!

On the dock, canoeing worked on T-rescues, and in archery, we are up to 111 bullseyes this session!

In cooking, we made Christmas pasta! Christmas pasta is a fan favorite, with pesto and marinara sauce.

For lunch, we had chicken quesadillas and tortilla chips. The afternoon activities had a lot of gold bars! When a camper gets a gold bar in an activity, it shows that they have truly mastered it and are in a position to teach it one day. Madeline N. got her gold in gymnastics, and Sammy T. and Caroline S. got their gold in basketball!

This afternoon, our girls competing in Camp Cup returned! Camp Cup is an overnight kayaking competition against many other camps in western North Carolina. Our Merri-Mac girls, alongside Timberlake won the Camp Cup for the third year in a row! Congratulations to:
Georgia N.
Sophie B.
Maye N.
Margaret R.

These girls all participated and helped us bring home the win!

For dinner, we had baked ziti with broccoli and rolls, as well as hotdogs at the bar! Then the girls headed on to evening activity, which was Tribal Volleyball. Our Junior Camp competes in a Nukum game on the sand volleyball court, while intermediate and senior camps play volleyball in the Mike!

For Post Evening Activities tonight, Comet and Milky Way raided Trading Post, and Stardust had milkshakes.

Tonight, some of our girls are spending the night in the woods alone to test their grit and perseverance on their solo 13’s. We wish the best of luck to them:
Kerigan P.
Reagan G.
Evelyn M.
Emma C.
Molly C.
Bizzy L.

We had the best day today and we can’t wait for another great day at camp tomorrow!
