Tribe Fest Thursday!
Today was an extra special day at Camp Merri-Mac… Tribefest!!
After a great breakfast of bacon and waffles, campers were surprised by a huge announcement by Mary Page S; We were replacing daily activities with tribe games all day!
Campers changed into their tribal gear, complete with glitter, paint, tutus, and beads. We started with a fan favorite: El Presidente. This game is a mix between hide-and-go-seek and tag and everyone had the best time. Next, we enjoyed Greek Day for lunch and then headed to an extra long rest hour (the full hour!), which got us ready for our next game.
For our next game we headed up to Pippin Hill for Tribal Cup (our play on the World Cup). This is a previously retired camp game that we brought back this year and it was a huge hit! Campers and counselors alike competed on the field while other campers designed signs to cheer on their tribes.
Dinner was Sweet Thai Chicken with Oreo Dream for dessert… just the fuel we needed for our final game: Battleball!
Each tribe competed against their age group (Tweedles, Bear Camp, and Senior Hill), with a final game of staff vs. Sunnyside.
To end the day, cabins made s’mores, played kickball, made milkshakes in the cooking kitchen, and had devo on the back green. It was another absolutely perfect day here in our favorite place and we cannot wait until tomorrow!
