It’s a Merri Christmas Eve Merri-Mac! The day started out with a breakfast of eggs,
cinnamon cream cheese filled bagel bites, and hashbrowns. After the yummy breakfast, we had a
fun morning of singing some of my favorite camp songs Ratlin Bog and Be Kind. After breakfast
we hike up to the chapel looking at the amazing views of good ole Lake Doris in her quiet state
before the day officially gets started with activities. Chapel songs were led by Blue Heaven
camper Claire Kintz and Moonmist camper Grace Miller. They did an amazing job! After
hearing another “true story” by senior staff member Sarah Renshaw, all the campers head up to
their cabins to get ready for their first activities.
The activities went off with a bang this morning, literally! In riflery today, campers were
eager to be able to work towards their bronze, silver, or gold bars by shooting at the targets and
increasing their riflery skill. Sunnysider Emily Smith got her silver in riflery today! In archery,
there were many bullseyes made and smiles all around as the girls would be given four arrows to
shoot at the target. In dance, campers are learning different ballet skills to be able to create a
dance to showcase at our Fine Arts Night Showcase next week. Drama was also fun as that the
campers were strengthening their acting skills with a rendition of ships and sailors but Broadway
musical edition.
After an amazing morning of activities, we head to lunch for an amazing meal of pita
bread, chicken salad, oranges, and pretzel bites! After the scrumptious meal, the tribal leaders
had to have a rock, paper, scissor competition for who won the volleyball game last night which
was Black Bear. After that we found out that it’s Christmas Eve! This is personally my favorite
time at camp. Tonight, the campers will be given a secret Santa and will make their secret Santa a
special gift to give them on Christmas morning (tomorrow).

This afternoon activities continued with lots of fun. In kayaking, they learned their t-
rescue and they rocked at it! In fencing, the girls fenced and worked on bars, they even got some
counselors in on a fencing match also! Pickleball was lots of fun as that all the campers were
playing each other in pickleball matches and some were even working on bars. Dreams Begin
camper Lucy W. got her silver in pickleball!

Today was also White Feather.
