What a day! Girls are really getting in the swing of their activities as they headed to their third day of MWF activities. We saw several bar achievements come in throughout the day as girls are beginning to learn and master new skills in each activity. Backpacking practiced lighting stoves and making food via fire. Cooking made some delicious smelling sliders! Pottery worked on hand building and wheel projects. Every day, I watch the girls hop on a horse or a mountain bike like it is the easiest thing they’ve done that day! Adventure is all around us. 

 

 

We had several trips out today! Milky Way took a cabin trip to Upper Creek Falls. Carlin B., Carolyn C., Anderson G., Hayden B., Emma M., and Claire R. went on a canoeing trip. Aubrey B., Caitlyn C., Lillian F., Rowan B., Helen M., Maye N., Ella H., Ella S., Peyton K., Lucy G., Mikayla S and Macy S. all ventured down the river on a rafting trip.

 

We had some great meals at camp throughout the day. Waffles and sausage for breakfast, turkey bacon avocado sliders for lunch and hawaiian meatballs. Oreo dream (vanilla pudding with oreo crumbles) made its return to camp for dessert!

 

Tonight is cabin night! Girls will spend some quality time doing an activity with their cabin. Smores, fashion shows and spa nights are popular so keep an eye out for pictures! Rumor has it there is going to be a talent show in Bear Camp featuring some impressions of year round staff and puppies. 

 

Currently, campers are heading up to the campfire for the first whitefeather ceremony of third session. During cabin time this evening, the counselors will go to each camper to describe the gifts and abilities that they have noticed in her.  This is where a girl who may never earn a White Feather Promotion, or a Gold Bar, or be elected to a tribal office, can be told about what we see God doing in her life and her contribution to the camp family.

 

While many earned bars this week, it takes a few to move up in promotions. Below are the promotions for this week.
