Campers woke up today to a chilly morning, a welcome reprieve from the steamy weather we’ve been having! Today’s breakfast was a classic: pancakes and sausage! Once campers had had their fill of the delicious breakfast, everyone headed to the chapel where we sang “Every Move I Make,” and “How He Loves Us.” Afterwards, Lucie Christian talked to us about the importance of letting go of our pride in order to form a relationship with God.

Campers had a blast all morning, participating in activities such as walking the puppies in PAWS, attempting the traverse wall in Climbing, learning how to pack a backpack in Camp Craft and playing “Queen of the Court” in Tennis. After morning activities, campers gathered on the back green to enjoy the sunny weather and spend time with friends.

Lunch was pizza, a favorite of campers and counselors alike! Full and happy, we enjoyed a relaxing and briefly rainy rest hour before campers headed down to enjoy their Trading Post and free time before the start of afternoon activities. Some highlights from today’s free time were a lighthearted tennis tournament, free swim for the Tweedles, and of course many games of tetherball!

Afternoon activities brought new excitement as Pottery learned to throw on the wheel, DIY Crafts continued working on their “stained glass” creations, and Airsoft competed in their version of “The Hunger Games.” Once activities were over, campers rushed to their cabins to get ready for Cabin Night.

One of our favorite evening activities, Cabin Night is an evening spent doing an extra special activity with your cabin. These activities ranged from playing spirited games of pickleball on the courts, making delicious treats in the cooking kitchen, or taking on the highly sought after slip-n-slide.

Needless to say there was laughter heard all around the mountain tonight as we wrapped up our day with showers and Devotional. We all went to bed feeling closer to our cabin mates than ever before, and ready for a fun day of camp tomorrow!
