Today was the last day for our 1A campers! We are so sad to say goodbye to those girls who are headed home, but excited to welcome them back next summer! Parents, remember that 2025 Camper Applications are live in Campminder!!

The day began with scrambled eggs, seasoned potatoes and sausage!After breakfast, the girls we headed to the chapel, and Will recapped everything we’ve been learning about Jesus and God, putting together all the pieces we’ve been hearing about over the past two weeks.

This was the last day of activities for some campers, while our 4-week girls are still hard at work earning bars! In Archery, the counselors added balloons to the middle of the targets, and it was so fun to hear the POP of a successful bullseye! At the lake, the campers blobbed, floated and hung out on the fire dock. The waterslide was open, and it was a blast seeing first-timers go down screaming and end up giggling when it was over!

Lunch was a camp favorite — chicken tenders and fries! (The kids cleaned their plates, asked seconds, thirds…you get the idea!!) Black Bear was announced as the winner of the Counselor Hunt (woo hoo!), and tribal cheers were louder than ever!!

Tonight we held our second White Feather ceremony of the summer. White Feather is the highest honor at camp, which is achieved by earning “marks” for various activities and achievements. Campers work toward it over many years, and only a few reach White Feathers! The weekly ceremony celebrates campers who earned more marks and promotions toward White Feather.

(AND TONIGHT WE HAD OUR VERY FIRST CAMPER ACHIEVE WHITE FEATHER!! IT WAS SO EXCITING!)

We also honored those who have spent 10 summers at Merri-mac with the presentation of a Founder’s Arrow, which will hang in the Tucker Inn forever!!
