This morning began with a delicious breakfast of crispy hash browns, eggs, and bacon, perfectly
paired with a refreshing fruit parfait. Our Sunnysiders led us in some camp songs, filling the air
with joy and energy before we made our way to Chapel. There, Mary Page shared a heartfelt
message about how “it’s okay to ask for help.” She told us a story about one of her dearest
friends who got lost on her way to a campout at the Shelter years ago and had to be rescued by
one of the nurses. Her story reminded us all that asking for help is brave, not weak, and that
God is always there to guide us through.

In Cooking class, the girls whipped up banana chocolate chip muffins and chocolate chip
scones—both were absolutely delicious! Over in Riflery, they focused on honing their aim and
maintaining consistency on their targets. Meanwhile, PAWS girls continued their work with the
puppies, practicing recall by teaching them to come when called—even in a group!

Lunch was a treat: Italian meatball subs served with French fries and oranges. Spirits were high,
and so was the Red Wolf pride—our tribal songs echoed across camp with enthusiasm! By the
end of the singing, we found out that the Black Bears had won the Amazing Race by a
landslide, go Bears!

Free time was full of fun, starting with an amazing talent show hosted by Comet, followed by two
exciting tournaments in pickleball and gaga ball. We also had four epic trips out of camp today!

Dinner was a cozy serving of roasted pork and peas with a warm roll, followed by the much-
anticipated Oreo Dream dessert—it lived up to the name!
Tonight’s evening activity was “As You Were” a cherished camp tradition where girls sing all the
cabin songs they’ve learned throughout their time at Merri-Mac. It’s always sweet to hear
memories come alive through song.

Since it’s Friday night, after dinner campers gathered at the Teepee to honor those at camp who made great strides during the past week at white feather. Commendations were given to campers who showed up for their cabin in different ways this week. Girls who made achievements in their activities were acknowledged and given a pin.

To wrap up this wonderful day, we’ll end with an all-camp favorite: Sock War! It’s camp’s very
own version of capture the flag, full of spirit and strategy. And just before the bugle sounds and
we head to devotions, Jiggity Jog will be roasting s’mores under the stars— the perfect ending
to a perfect Merri-Mac day.
