It’s Christmas Day here at Camp Merri-Mac! Campers got to sleep in an hour while Will and Mary Page brought donuts and hot cocoa up the hill on the camp truck! After an exciting morning, we headed to the chapel to sing Christmas songs and learn about how we are created in God’s image. Adam Kepke led a chapel that had everyone entertained with stories about his dad, he used Ephesians 7:3-6 to connect his story to God’s word.

Campers were soon on their way to classes! Today in pottery campers made Christmas ornaments and slab plates, soon they will be able to glaze their pieces and take them home!! In cooking the dish today was pesto and red sauce pasta that the campers love!  This Thursday was a busy day filled with many different activities; Mary Margaret S. relaxed in yoga while Paige S. played a lively game of pickleball. In fitness Caroline D. worked toward her Gold and completed a 50-burpee test.

Lunch was a delicious meal of chicken tenders, mashed potatoes, and corn. At Lunch our evening activity was announced, the Amazing Race! The Amazing Race is a big camp wide relay race that includes art, lake activities, fitness, and archery! During free time tribes met to assign roles and get ready for the race. After 3rd and 4th activities campers were decked out in tribe gear and on their way to dinner. We had breakfast for dinner tonight with chicken and waffles as well as donut holes at the hot bar!

Soon the Amazing race began, the tribes were off with the Golden Eagles taking the lead in the beginning. Campers from Tweedles to Sunnyside worked together to support and cheer on their tribes. In today’s race, archery was the big game decider with Allie W. helping the Black Bears take the lead. To end the game Black Bear Chief Frances H. speed down the slipping slide with the Red Wolf and Golden Eagles Chiefs not far behind!

After an exciting game, campers returned to their cabins for cabin activates and their nightly devotionals. Tonight, Stardust and Comet reported to the Mike for an invigorating game of battle ball! Today was a great day at camp full of adventure and exciting events!
