And that’s a wrap on Second Session’s Opening Day! Campers spent their afternoons unpacking with their counselors, decorating their cabins with their new friends, taking a tour of camp, jumping in our lake (Lake Doris!) and learning camp songs.
We finished the afternoon by electing our Second Session tribal leaders. Congratulations to our new tribal leaders. Our Black Bear tribal leaders are Annie B (Chief), Taylor P (Elder), Addie J and Addison M (Scouts). Leading the Golden Eagles are Mary Eleanor S (Chief), Reagan S (Elder), Poppy S and Kate M (Scouts). And finally, our Red Wolf tribe is led by Claire R (Chief), Lucy S (Elder), Lauren D and Alex H (Scouts).
After dinner (spaghetti and meatballs, yum!) they headed up to the Council Ring for initiation. We spent this time welcoming all of our new friends into our tribes.
Congratulations to our new Black Bears: Coco B, Scarlett B, Kiki H, Collins H, Kaia M, Louise O, Amelia Kate S, Arisa V, Camille A, Sarah A, Eppie B, Miller M, Tegan M, Millie R, and Amos B!
Our newly initiated Golden Eagles are: Rebecca A, Anna Beth B, Alice E, Olivia H, Sally M, Magnolia M, Annabelle T, EK U, Harper B, Carson C, Tiffany P, Eloise S, and Anna N!

It’s been a great opening day. I saw a letter in our outgoing mail addressed to Mom and Dad. On the back of the sealed envelope it said:
“4:07 – I think I have friends
4:28 – I definitely have friends!”
So what have your girls been doing since you left? Well, they’re busy doing exactly what camp is about: making friends and going on new adventures together.
