We woke up to a foggy camp morning with breakfast sandwiches and hash browns! We sang classic morning songs like “Ratlin’ Bog” and “Be Kind” before heading to chapel, where the Sunnysiders led us in worship and Mary Page taught us more about “Who is Man?” She told us a true story describing how humans will always fall short, but God’s love and grace cover us completely.

In canoeing, girls learned how to properly unswamp a flipped-over canoe, followed by the highly anticipated… canoe slide! We made red and green pasta in cooking (turns out it was a little hint about what tomorrow holds!) with Parmesan garlic bread, which is always a big hit, and in archery, girls continued to develop skills while focusing on precision.

We had sloppy joes and French fries for lunch, and the girls showed their tribal pride by yelling tribe chants and cheers after it was announced that the Golden Eagles had won last night’s evening activity: Tribal Volleyball!

At the end of lunch, Santa Claus, Elves, Rudolph, and Mrs. Claus came running into the Tucker to announce that today is Christmas Eve, leading straight into a very enthusiastic version of Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas is You.”

Everyone came down to dinner decked out in their Christmas pajamas and ugly sweaters and then got ready to head up to their cabins while Sunnysiders and CITs babysat them, and their counselors went cabin to cabin caroling. Everyone is looking forward to an extra hour of sleep tomorrow morning and a visit from Santa on Bobby’s truck for a very special Christmas breakfast!
