The air this morning was buzzing with excitement as campers sprang out of bed to the sound of the 7 AM bugle, excited for another 1B Monday! After completing their morning chores, they made their way to the dining hall for a hearty breakfast of scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, and a camp classic: warm, sugary cinnamon donut holes that disappeared almost as quickly as they were served.

At Chapel, our beloved staff member Emily captivated everyone with a thrilling tale from kayaking staff training week. She shared how she navigated a wild, rushing river, and pointed to 1 Corinthians 2:3–5 to remind us that every victory belongs to God. The verse reminded campers that their “faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.” Her message, grounded in faith and humility, encouraged campers to place their trust not in human wisdom but in the incredible power of God.

The day’s activities were packed with energy and creativity! In Dance, campers choreographed and performed an archery-inspired routine right in front of the Archery range. DIY Crafts was alive with color and imagination as campers designed felt pennants, embellishing them with buttons and ribbons. Over in Pottery, girls carefully glazed their creations, preparing them for the kiln. In the Fencing Pavilion, campers mastered Circle Parry 6, a key defensive move. On Tweedle Porch, girls in Yoga stretched and balanced their way through fun partner poses. In Studio Fitness, determination was on full display as girls tackled a two-lap run around camp in under 12 minutes! And in Cooking, girls grilled mini hamburgers and made their own homemade buns.

Lunch featured fresh Greek pitas with a side of juicy cantaloupe, and cheers erupted when Eliza R. was announced as the winner of the student-led Archery Tournament! During free time, cabins Jiggity Jig, Jiggity Jog, and Cloud Nine soaked up the sunshine at Free Swim, especially enjoying jumping on the blob and going down the slide. Our trips today were Hiking and Mountain Biking.

Today was a great start to our week at camp. Here’s to an amazing 1B!
