It was a terrific Tuesday at Merri-Mac! This morning— after tidying up our cabins— we danced down to the Tucker Inn to feast on a delicious breakfast of French toast sticks and sausage patties. After enjoying laughter and fun songs (plus lots of syrup), in chapel campers listened to Andrea discuss an important question— who is Jesus?— connecting her many attempts of crafting a mug in pottery to an excerpt reading from 2 Corinthians chapter 4. She still loved her creations despite their cracks and flaws; God loves us regardless, just as Jesus was made, shaped, and broken for us.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a day complete without some trips! Today, campers, Mackensie M., Kenley M., Ella H., Camille H., Sarah G., Adèle C., Sophia C., Sofia B., Lia B., Stella C., and Candler L., loaded up to raft the French Broad. Additionally, Allison B., Sadie C., Millicent S., and Caroline T. departed for a two-day backpacking adventure!

Camp was buzzing with activity today! From practicing T-rescues in canoeing, riding the pump track in mountain biking, to making chicken and buttermilk biscuits in cooking, girls learned many new skills. Following an exhilarating morning, lunch was equally as awesome with chicken sandwiches, waffle fries, and pears. Also, the Golden Eagles claimed victory in last night’s game of Battle Ball!

Tweedle Dee & Doe, Comet, and Little Dipper made a splash in Lake Doris while various activities, such as basketball and tennis, opened for bar testing during free time! In the meantime, girls rehearsed their big performances for tonight’s evening activity— Fine Arts Nights— during which Girls have the opportunity to display their many talents in front of camp!

For dinner, we enjoyed a hearty meal of roast beef, mashed potatoes with gravy, rolls, and green beans! Afterwards, we went to cheer on our friends at Fine Arts Night! Multiple cabins had post-evening activities including Cloud 9 with s’mores and the slip and slide for Stardust and Comet!

Overall it was another great day at camp and we’re so excited for all that’s to come tomorrow!
