Today at camp we woke up bright and early at 7am. After a classic breakfast of scrambled eggs and sausage, everyone headed to chapel, where Mary Page talked all about how Jesus is a “friend that sticks closer than a brother.”

Many girls went on one of the three thrilling trips today:

Kayaking: Hill L., Kahlan C., Eva P., Mary Rhodes M., Astin M., Caroline A., Olivia P., Emma Rose G., Imani T., Keira C., Josie D.

Hiking at Big Piney: Afton C., Lillie Kate D., Ellaree H., Elizabeth K., Marion S., Uma V., Riley Y., Taylor Y.

Climbing at Tom’s Creek Waterfall: Ella H., Shelby H., Sarah Kate G., Rachel G., Eloise Bell., Campbell H., Lizzie M., Elizabeth M., Sidney M., Charlotte M., Katherine S., Emma G.,

Activity periods were lively and fruitful as always, with many girls working towards their bars. Some campers who made big accomplishments were Helena P. who got her bronze in soccer, and Milly G. who got her bronze in pickleball!

In cooking, the campers made and enjoyed waffles. They learned to mix the batter and use the waffle maker. There were also LOTS of toppings to enjoy such as, chocolate chips, multiple syrup flavors, and whipped cream. In DIY the girls continued working on making stamps. Many of them have finished carving and are now learning to roll ink and apply it to their stamp.

Lunch today was walking tacos, a huge hit! Many campers have been waiting for this meal since the day they arrived. During lunch, it was announced that the Golden Eagles won Counselor Hunt AND spirit points on Saturday night!

At dinner we enjoyed chicken, potatoes, broccoli, and rolls. After the meal, we made the best of the rainy weather and moved the evening activity inside. They played Battleball which is, essentially, dodgeball– camp style. After this exciting game, some cabins called it a night, while others such as Happy Hollow enjoyed post evening activities like pickleball.

It was another wonderful day at Camp Merri-Mac and we’re excited to do it again tomorrow!
