Siblings and Friends at Camp Merri-Mac
Today, everyone at camp enjoyed an extra hour of sleep, with the bugle waking us up at 8:00 a.m. For breakfast, we had cinnamon rolls, and then we headed to the chapel. During chapel, one of our cabins, Big Dipper, shared a message from Matthew 6 about how to pray.
Today’s trip was canoeing around Lake James, our participants were:
Kaitlyn D.
Mary Shelton T.
Paige C.
Ava L.
Reagan M.
Sophia R.
Kahlan C.
Lauren D.
Rachel G.
After chapel, the entire camp came together to support and watch our campers compete in the triathlon. Campers participated by swimming 150 meters in Doris, biking one mile, and running half a mile around camp. Our first-place winner was Lizzie T., followed by Allie W. in second, and Charley T. in third.
After lunch, our campers with brothers at Timberlake enjoyed Sibling Day. The brothers came over to Merri-Mac for an afternoon filled with fun activities, including swimming in Doris, using the blob and water slide, getting trade po, and enjoying volleyball!
Following our one-hour rest time, camp was buzzing with various tournaments. Our Tweedle and Bear campers competed in gaga ball and tetherball, while a pickleball tournament was also taking place. Grace T. and Charley T. won the pickleball tournament. Later in the afternoon, the girls participated in volleyball and soccer tournaments as well.
Today, our amazing CITs who returned from BME prepared dinner for the camp cookout. At the cookout, campers had the choice of a hamburger or hot dog, along with watermelon, pasta salad, and chips. Instead of our usual tribe game, we held vespers, which is our Sunday tradition. Counselors performed various skits and sang fun songs, making it a delightful evening that concludes with a Bible story.
