It’s a merry day Merri Mac! Today was a bit of a bittersweet day as we closed out session 1A. But we are still busy here at camp getting ready to welcome all of the amazing campers coming for 1B. This morning campers had waffles, fruit and sausage patties for breakfast. Following breakfast we all circled up on the back green and participated in our friendship circle ceremony. Standing side by side, hand in hand we all sang our favorite camp songs, the sunnysiders gave out their suns and everyone said their goodbyes to the friends that left today.

After our friendship circle, the campers had the opportunity to sign up for activities for the first two periods of the day which included lego builders, paws and archery. Girls who are in cooking class got to go on a field trip to the Black Mountain Framer’s market as well and got the chance to pick out fresh fruits, vegetables, and other ingredients to take back to camp and make some delicious snacks! Following lunch the girls had rest hour and free time before they went back to activities. Some girls also left to go canoeing on the Catawba River after lunch. The Girls on this trip were:

The rest of the day was spent resting and relaxing, spending time with friends and getting excited to welcome the new  friends that will be arriving tomorrow morning!
