A Rainy Day At Camp!
Mary Page Boyd - June 10th 2026
After a warm, sunshiney Christmas, camp returned to its normal schedule, with some happy rain clouds keeping our campers cool during the day. We started the morning right with Make-Your-Own breakfast sandwiches which included sausage patties, eggs, cheese, biscuits, and hash browns on the side. Next, in Chapel, we listened to Will’s message about God’s grace.
We had three trips today: an all-day kayaking trip, an all-day rafting trip, and a morning trail running trip. While kayaking on the Tuck, Allie Wakefield completed a combat roll, earning her a mark! The overnight backpacking trip that left yesterday also returned during free time this afternoon!

After Chapel this morning, the girls went to their morning activities. In archery, the girls shot at balloons attached to the targets to improve their accuracy. In arts and crafts they worked on their mosaic frames, and then worked together to make friendship bracelets! Our girls in basketball worked hard to get their bronze and silver bars during class; Monroe Martin got her gold today for basketball!
For lunch, the kitchen served delicious Monte Cristo sandwiches with a side of classic crinkle fries! The girls also enjoyed chicken noodle soup and salad from the bar. Drumroll for the winner of Sock War…. Red Wolves!
During free time this afternoon, camper Bria Rogats organized a multi-tier dance tournament in the Lodge!
Winners from Senior Hill:
1. Mary Rhodes M.
2. Sofia R.
3. Charlie, Taylor, Evie

During afternoon activities, girls in kayaking worked on their rolls, girls in dance started learning a fun combination, and girls in climbing worked on making it up the in-door wall. For dinner we had delicious pasta served with broccoli and breadsticks!
Tonight’s evening activity is Counselor Hunt, a favorite for all the campers! As the name suggests, counselors will be well hidden all over camp. The campers’ job is to find them and push them into the lake, earning their tribe points! The twist? They don’t know each counselor’s value. Some can be worth negative points!!
Despite a little bit of rain this morning, today was certainly another beautiful, merry day at Merri-Mac!
Signing off,
