Today campers started an amazing Wednesday at camp with baked oatmeal and blueberry muffins. In chapel we heard from counselor Marleigh W. about God’s love and listened to psalm 121:5-7. Campers hurried off to tribe meetings and activities, while the trips hiking activity began their adventure at Catawba falls.

Campers in kayaks cruised down the Catawba river while canoeing campers paddled through lake James. Back at camp, canoeing class learned to flip their canoes and work together to un-flip them. Campers had a great time in lawn games playing kickball while other campers relaxed as they learned new yoga moves. Campers in pottery were challenged to make their favorite foods and master their sculpting skills!

During free time Happy Hollow enjoyed a free swim at the lake. Reese H went off the blob while her cabin mates slipped down the slide. Lunch today was a build-your-own chicken sandwich, with cantalope and fries! At lunch tribes sang their favorite cheers and learned that the Red Wolves won spirit points and last nights tribe game! Tonight’s game was announced at lunch, GOLD RUSH!! Gold rocks and assorted gold items are hidden around camp, but counselors act as bandits attempting to tag girls and take their gold. Each tribe competes to find the heaviest items and return them back to base. The game ends with each tribes haul being weighed on a seesaw, each tribe waits in anticipation ready to cheer if they win. After the game cabins will wind down their nights with cabin activities like s’mores and milkshake making. Today was a great day at camp full of sunny and bright adventures!!
