Terrific Merri-Mac Tuesday!
It was a wonderful first Tuesday of third session! We kicked off this morning with eggs and biscuits for breakfast, then we headed to chapel.
Today in chapel we heard a true story with Mary Paige Troxler, she explored the question “Who is God?” We read Psalm 19:7-8, these verses teach us about how perfect and trustworthy God’s laws are and how they are put in place to protect us and help us flourish in our lives.
In activities today we had fun doing safety talks and learning things in our first day of the Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday schedule. Kayaking girls worked on their wet-exits, while across the lake girls in canoeing worked on learning the parts of the paddle and strokes.
After a fun time in morning activities, we had worked up an appetite. For lunch we had Stromboli! Yum!
It was rainy this morning, but as the day progressed the sun came out for our afternoon activities! In Backpacking, girls learned the Leave No Trace (LNT) principles and performed skits about them. So far in third session there has already been 15 bullseyes shot in Archery!
After 4th period we took the camp wide photo. We had Carnitas Tacos for dinner and Churros for dessert.
For tonight’s tribe game we are playing The Great Escape!!! Tribes will create teams and search for counselors in spots around camp. After performing a task for the counselors (Singing the ABC’s backwards, naming all the Merri-Mac Cabins, etc.) they will earn a clue. Once a team from one tribe has found all 13 clues they must unscramble them to make a sentence explaining where a flag is hidden. Once a team has unscrambled the riddle and found the flag, they will win!
Everyone had a an amazing time learning new things in their activities, playing in the rain, and enjoying friendships with new friends and old friends. The second full day of camp was so much fun, and we can’t wait for all the exciting things we have coming up!
